What's with the "sacred" crap? Is he a tree-worshipper? I like wilderness, but it's no church. This guy is nutso. I'm glad the newspaper ran the story because now the rest of us can see that this fruitcake and his followers ought not to have anything to say about anything that government does. They're trying to impose their tree-worship religion on us. It's not sacred; it's the woods!

There are special rules for grooming trails in wilderness areas. One of those rules being no power tools. Maybe you should go take a look? Then you might actually realize what a beautiful area it is or at least have an informed opinion about the area.

If this is such a beautiful untouched area.Why is Mr Kirk Johnson groomimg trails thru it. Im sure that he does not own it. If he is disturbing the area should he not be subject to the federal laws protecting the area?The mans admitted to quite a few violations in the article.

I agree with Carl the Hickory Creek Area is one of the few places left in the forest you can walk without tripping over an oil pump jack. If you haven't spent any time in this area I encourage you to do so you will find this little piece of forest the way the entire forest was prior to us screwing it all up.

The marks aren't for marking and selling trees, this is a designated wilderness area where that is forbidden.

Wow did you see the fines and penalties.100 in damage could get you 250,000 fine and ten years in prison.Mr Kirk johnson your foot is on a very rare tree seedling.I think its been killed,you better turn yourself in.

Its alright for the white markings but not ok for the pink markings.Faw are doing no one any favors getting involved.They mess up timber sales,wich causes my taxes to go higher because of their absurd claims.The man should find a gym he looks out of shape.Iknow this is the wilderness area .Im talking about all the other absurd problems the FAW gets involved in.
