The kudos for the improved performance go to principal Dr Jaskolka, the staff, and this year's senior class. They worked hard and the kids took the test, the consequences, and their school pride seriously this time around. Good for them.

Someone on here mentioned that the kids pulling the scores down mostly graduated last year. It may not be a direct result of anything he did.

Grantland you call me out,but nothing about the other 20 some post bashing the people in the north. You must be from Warren also. The northeren area should of went charter when they had the momentum.Could of put a end to this once and for all. No bashing Sheffield area yet,the same thing is scheduled to happen their. This all must be about a few in the Northeren area.

Do you think people may not want to live here after reading some of these posts? We have some major healing to do and these rants are not helpful. I must say, I am curious why all the dozen or so superintendents left WCSD especially Mr. Grant. Isn't he currently serving on the school board?

sickofit: Your attitude is exactly what's wrong with education in Warren County. It's about the parents not the kids. I'm not sure what you win. In the big city you see, we have WAEC which will house K-5. Beaty that has 6-8 and then our high school. So our kids won't have to share common areas like the gym, the auditorium, and the cafeteria. My kids will never have to walk in the same hallway as a senior until they are similar age. BUT yes, you are absolutely right sickofit, you have won. You have beat a bunch of 5 year olds at education, congratulations, would you like a ribbon for that?

garypayton I hear alot of pouting screamimg and kicking coming out of you.You have been beaten, get over it.Why do you feel its necessary to run your mouth. This was all hashed out 2 years ago.Go down to Beaty and flush the toilets with rain water.

I think a rework of admin. salaries wouldn't be such a bad thing considering the kids seem to be making most of the sacrafices. Instead the admin. cuts back janitors, aides, and other lower paying employees hours. I'm no college graduate, but I think commen sence would be to take a look at these top paying salaries first.

At $80,000, the super would be making less than or just about the same as his/her directors and principals. How is that supposed to work when the super has all of that additional responsibilities on his/her shoulders? A major reduction in super salary at this point would require a rework of all other admin salaries, as well, and that's not going to happen any time soon.

I make about a third of that. This is not NYC. The cost of living here is less expensive then the big cities. I have a hard time believing that we couldn't get someone for around $80,000 a year. There's alot of college educated people out there looking for a job. $80,000 a year in this area is pretty good wages.

I agree,$125,000 is not a lot of money for that position. You have school supers in N.Y. making that much and they only have one school to worry about.

Really, $125,000 is something we should be looking at cutting. Have you looked at the budget, the number of students and the geographic range of the District and then looked at comparative data? To me, $125,000 is a good deal.

"We are in the midst of an intelligent building plan and we now have time to focus on areas of educational improvement."

Wow - Stewart says the board now has time to focus on improving education. Anyone actually believe that is going to happen? If so, I have a bridge for sale!
