"This project is not green space, it's a parking lot with grass around the edges."

Maybe they intend to paint the asphalt green?

This project is not green space, it's a parking lot with grass around the edges. Just like the parking lot across the street at cvs. A gazebo on that corner would be the tackiest thing you could possibly put there! Who do you think would ever use this gazebo? It's not exactly a peaceful area to relax with the all the traffic. The only time I can see it being used is by some scumbag to sit there and smoke cigs or during the parade Ricky bob could shotgun a case of beer in there. So if you want one of the biggest intersections in warren to look like something you would find behind a mobile home in West Virginia go for it. I don't know the specifics of the financial agreement, but it sounds like westpa**** has some friends in the rotary club who want to pay for their New parking lot. If the rotary club does build this they should have a picnic in their new "green space" because no one else will!

probably the best thing to do is keep the city out of it. they have collectively screwed up everything theve touched in the past 10 years. the one thing the city will do though is probably put up barricades to the development.

"Sam Harvey For Mayor" Can't do any worse than the sweater vest (sounds like he wouldn't do better either). Maybe they should see how much it will cost before they rule it out. Probably cost less (a lot less), than maintaining the tables and fountain 2 blocks down. On the plus side maybe people would look at that instead of the big blue monster on the other side of the street. No wonder they have trouble keeping businesses in Warren.

There is no public money being spent on this project. The city is donating a 6' wide strip of parking space on Market Street, other then that this is a privite project. The City is taking no responsibility for upkeep.
