Amber Alert system sparks some confusionJanuary 17, 2013When an Amber Alert goes out, police are looking for help in locating an abducted child. Time is of the essence. But so is common sense. Emergency responders are looking for answers, not questions.... Showing 5 of 5 comments

I still feel it doesn't work the best it can.
It didn't tell me it was an PA Alert. How was I to know? I checked all local news agencies and found nothing. Checked amberalert.gov and nothing...
Why aren't state alerts also listed nationally?

My husbands cell got the alert & I went to the PA alert system online & it was posted there as well as a photo of the 5 year from the Philadelphia area. This was a PA alert

I got the alert also...found nothing on tv, radio or internet. Statewide is fine, but it should be more regional and/or localized perhaps to the area code of the cell number.

I got this alert and the system is broken.
I immediately when to the AmberAlert.gov and it said there were no current alerts. It also stated any alerts would remain on the web site for 10 days. It's still not there, no does it say the child was found.
