While pulling that financial data they might also take a look at financial data and salaries being paid to WGH senior administrative staff. Since so many of you complain about salaries of the School District Administration it might be worth a look.

Great article. This is ridiculous. It looks like the new City Manager from "out of town" is looking for money to cover up the poor decisons of the City Mayor. How many downtown projects have to go under before there is accountability (a parking garage with two outdoor levels that never get used because of well-known-PA weather, a failed convention center when Warren is not near an airport). And now they are going after our only hospital which already faces an onslaught of state/federal gov't regs and Medicare cuts to pay for DC. Be careful Mayor (while you still hold that title) or you may just lose the only hospital we have--which our seniors rely on for their well being. Wow.

Mike - can you give me directions to the failed convention center? This is a rural county with a population of 42,000 of which what 25000-30,000 are witin 10 miles of Warren. Just an estimated guess. The Hospital isn't going anywhere no matter what kind of sky is falling statements are made.

Let's hope not Brazil. TO put it well months ago "We should be wary of the bigger-than-life ideas, cognizant of our demography, steady and methodical in our research and planning, but steadfastly committed to bettering the city. First step: Rethink the whole commitment to the hotel/convention center concept and take our eggs out of that basket." "Warren, Don't give up."

"can you give me directions to the failed convention center?"
It's a portion of the Loranger Manufacturing building on Clark Street. That and an expensive electrical service connection in that area.

I think the city has already spent the tax money.
