Backyard Challenge
Tug of war. It’s a game that kids and adults know well, and most have played at a community event or in their backyard. The game is played with a rope and two lines of people tugging back and forth on each end in order to not be sent plummeting into the mud pit in the center. There is also another tug of war. “The spiritual kind,” said Don Sunshine of the Family Life Network (FLN), who spoke last Wednesday evening at the first Backyard Challenge hosted by the Youngsville Free Methodist Church. “All of us have been emotionally hurt, been through extremely rough things and people have hurt us physically and mentally. This is a tug of war that God is having with hell for our soul.” Sunshine told a story of a young man and his father who were in Florida on a fishing trip when an alligator attacked the young man.
