Frog bowl by Vicki Allen Shea
The 29th annual Wild Wind Folk Art & Craft Festival will once again transform the barns and the surrounding grassy lawn areas at the Warren County Fairgrounds into more than 100 quaint shops on Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. “Neat stuff” is a phrase that those who visit craft shows often use to describe works that defy more precise classification. Wild Wind visitors are bound to find plenty of “neat stuff” from 140 exhibitors plying their wares that run the gamut from funky to functional, traditional to trendy and city-fied to country-fied. There also will be fine art booths with items that are most often found in upscale galleries. Included in this category will be these newcomers - Vickie Allen of Allen Stoneware Gallery located in Erie. In 1993, the White House requested a sculptured ornamental angel from her for the White House Christmas tree and she was also commissioned to create a personalized plate for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge
