Wild Woods in Cherry Grove will host Seneca Indian Festival Aug. 30-31
Wild Woods Animal Park in Cherry Grove — a biological park nestled in a haven of natural woodlands that is dedicated to the continuing survival of wild species through education — will present its Third Annual Wild Woods Seneca Indian Festival Aug. 30-31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Each day will include a welcome and opening address by Ganonyok at 11 a.m. and Nation American Dancers with Iroquois dancing near the front gate.
Registration for the smoke dance contest will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The contest will begin at 2:30 p.m. and at 4 p.m.
A black ash splint splitting demonstration at 11:30 a.m. will be followed by traditional Seneca splint basketry demonstration near the food tent at the rear gate. The demonstrations also will be held at 3 p.m.
Grizzly Falls, a live Grizzly bear show, will begin at noon, at 2 p.m. and at 5 p.m. near the front gate.
