Something Fishy

POSTED:Tue, May 13, 2008 @ 12:52PM

Where are the photo ops in Warren County?

I've been all around the county with a camera, but I don't tend to stop and smell the roses, if you will.

Where are the best places to take a short to medium walk and find a decent photo and/or have a picnic?

Streams, waterfalls, trees, curious architecture, interesting old broken stuff, overgrown stuff, other... What's out there and not so good it's secret?

There are some nice spots along Big Four Road, and Route 6 coming from Corry has a few interesting barns.

Brian, I moved from Warren in 1985 but visit there in the summers. As for photo ops try the interior of some of the old homes in Warren. There is beautiful wookwork there that cannot be duplicated. If you could get permission from the owners that would make for a good article. There is an old home behind the Episcopal church with marvelous woodwork. Another photo op is just off the side of the road that goes from Sheffield to Cherry Grove. There are huge cracks in the rock some 15 feet deep just off the side of the road. I forget the name of the road.

They are all around. The most important thing is getting the right light and this takes time, the right weather, the right time of day. Shoot upper Liberty Street where the Victorian Streetlights come on at dusk. With a little fog it will look just like London. Or try a view of the refinery from Dorcon road at night--the image is spectacular with all the lights on. Good luck
