I know, I usually stick to social media related stuff to some extent, but I can't help but jump into the Bowl Fever! [I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell!]

There's been talk about the new playoff system that is going to begin in 2014 and I can't be more excited than I already am...however, I think people are getting greedy (surprise, surprise).

Many users on the message boards have been lobbying for a larger playoff bracket. (The current proposed bracket is four teams).

I saw that many users were agreeing with an individual who was pushing for a 32 team bracket, like March Madness (which is incorrect for many reasons, but I won't go into that...ok, yeah, there are 68 teams in the bracket, not 32, geez.) I say fooey on that.

Are you crazy? I mean, while that is an awesome idea, the actual playing of that bracket system would most likely destroy the athletes...or make the playoffs last longer than major league baseball's.

The extent of injuries we already see in the high intensity bowl games would only be drastically increased as players wear down week after week. especially when it would be a five week playoff system.

Picture this: The nation's best athletes, who refuse to give up because of a pulled hamstring, a fractured bone in their wrist, or a slight concussion that they won't report to trainers for fear of having to sit out the last few rounds of the playoffs. Now, it's the third round of the playoffs and that pulled hammy has turned into a strain, that fracture is a clean break, and that concussion riddled player doesn't know which position he plays anymore... That's what a large bracket system would do.

I vote 8 teams. Elite 8, enough said.
