The Trickle - complicated signage

July 15, 2010 - Brian Ferry

The most troublesome sign in Warren

I was walking west along Pennsylvania Avenue the other day and I heard a car horn blaring. I had a guess as to the cause of the horn before I could see the intersection with Liberty. It had to be that pesky "no left turn" sign. That's right. There's a sign indicating that traffic eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue may not turn left onto Liberty Street. Don't believe me? Neither do plenty of folks that make that turn every day. But, you can check it out for yourself next time you drive that way, or you can look at the photo attached to this blog. I assure my faithful readers that, other than the usual crop, levels, unsharp mask, and sizing, no Photoshopping was done. I didn't make this stuff up. Someone doesn't want people sitting at that intersection causing more congestion than already exists. In fact, judging by the horns, lots of someones don't like people sitting there waiting to turn. My advice - obey the sign. I know it's complicated, but just obey the sign.

(Hopefully, no one looks at this until I find the picture.)

(Took a new picture, but I was in a hurry.)
