The Trickle - Chiablog

March 23, 2010 - Brian Ferry

Ch-ch-ch-CHIA

I've decided someone needs to create a ChiaBlog. I'd rather it not be I. (Sometimes I hate trying to write English correctly.) My city editor told a story that a clever family member once got him a Chia Pet as a gag gift. Building on the gag, the editor caused the Chia Creature to become as Mary's little lamb. The editor took pictures of the Chia involved in all kinds everyday activities, on vacation, and generally anywhere. That reminded me of the Dad who found his daughter's stuffed animal in his briefcase when he had gone for a business trip. He then took pics with the creature in the foreground and announced his arrival home by taking a picture of the house with the creature in the foreground and sending it, via the advertised telecommunications company I can't remember, to her. This is good stuff. But you have to have a signature item for the foreground. Now that I'm rolling with this, I realize it is a going to start a worldwide trend. People who don't like having their picture taken, but do want to be able to prove they were in some particular exotic or interesting locale, can take a pic of the scene with their signature item. Also saves handing your camera to someone else or carrying a tripod.
