May 29, 2008 - Brian Ferry
Sometimes, when I'm headed into and out of Warren, I pick a route and go.

Other times, I try to shave a little time off the trip and look for the quickest (legal) way through town.

There are three routes I am interested in and I haven't yet been able to decide which alternatives are best for any of them.

First, if I'm coming into town from the north and I want to get to Hickory Street Bridge, sometimes I turn on Fifth and head straight down Hickory.

But, if the lights seem right to get me through more intersections unimpeded, I've been known to take any of the turns all the way to Pennsylvania.

The lights on Fourth can be brutal, but I go that way sometimes for the right-on-red advantage off Market.

Second: If I'm at the Times Observer (Market and Pennsylvania) and need to get out of town to the east, do I head through the east end with its several lights and restricted speeds, or do I go the wrong way to Hickory Street Bridge, and head out Dorcon?

The last one is from the east side out of town to the north.

Sometimes I take Conewango up to one of the bridges and cross to Market.

Other times, I take Pennsylvania straight to Market and go north that way.

I've never tried it, but if I'm going far enough north, Conewango to Hatch is another option.

What's the best way?
