| | The Trickle - The Madness is Almost OverApril 6, 2009 - Brian FerryMadness Marches on I am pleased with the NCAA Basketball Tournament. I picked pretty well, probably due to the accuracy with which the selection committee did its job and my willingness to pick higher seeds. I don't have either of the finalists on my bracket. Pitt and Kansas did not reach the semi-final round as I had predicted. UNC and UConn did, though I picked UConn to meet Pitt in the finals, with UNC and Kansas going home. Despite crushing that slim hope I had of finishing in a third-place tie, the finals matchup pleases me. I like the Big Ten. Success by Big Ten teams makes my team look better. (The reverse is also true... for example, the college football postseason.) And, when I choose to root for a highest-echelon men's college basketball team, it's UNC. I can't lose. NIT I wrote earlier that I was happy my alma mater did not make the NCAA Tournament. I am especially pleased that Penn State did not. A win in the NIT is not something to be sneezed at. GO STATE!
