Our Opinion: Needs of the many…

23,000 pounds of metal?

We can look at this two ways — that we have a bunch of people who don’t care about our community, or that we have a bunch of people who do.

Maybe we can look at it in more ways than that, but we do have to commend our citizens that care deeply about our environment, our county.

143 volunteers donated 1,144 hours removing litter from Allegheny River and Conewango Creek.

They do this every year.

WHY do they HAVE TO remove 23,000 pounds?

Okay, okay, we’ll focus on the positive…

Just think a couple extra seconds or two about today’s articles.

In addition to cleaning up pounds and pounds of trash, employees are fixing up brick roads on Poplar St. in Warren, and the city’s Redevelopment Authority is progressing with improving city houses and properties.

Much like your mother told you when you were a child, this room’s not going to clean itself. While we often take for granted who does the work, “Very few burdens are heavy if everyone lifts.”
