Our amazing library

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to say thank you to all of the employees of the Warren Public Library who make it such a fantastic and integral part of our community and also to ensure readers are aware of what a phenomenal resource we have in downtown Warren.

I have participated with my high school students for over 3 years during trivia nights and cannot express how much we all enjoy it and look forward to it. I know how much work this requires and am so appreciative of everything that goes into the planning and sponsorship of these events.

I have brought my daughter to several of the children’s programs and am so grateful to have the opportunity to take her to such educational and fun things. I am looking forward to having her spend time in her childhood attending these programs throughout the years.

Additionally, each time I am in the library, I see signs advertising workshops and events for adults that look fascinating. I hope to someday have more time to take advantage of these as well.

To think that all of these programs and services are available to us for free is an absolute amazement. There is no excuse to say one has nothing to do or nothing for their children to do in this town. I am well aware that funding for organizations such as this is always tight. Many assume the government funds all expenses for the library; however, this is not true. Only about half of the expenses necessary are provided by the government so, therefore, it is important we as a community continue to support our library.

If you have not been to the Warren Public Library recently, you should certainly go as it offers far more than just books (which are great!). Trust me, you will not be disappointed. I am so grateful to all of the staff and felt it necessary to make sure I spoke out to make sure their hard work for the betterment of our community does not go unnoticed.

Thank you again to all involved in maintaining our library as an excellent community resource.

Jewel Rozanski,
