Relay For Life
On behalf of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Warren, I would like to sincerely thank our community for its generosity and support. 11 teams and 117 people participated in this year’s event on June 23 and 24.
More than $47,000 was raised to support the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives from cancer. Funds raised help the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives from cancer.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease today, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations.
We were honored to welcome and celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, and their caregivers who inspired us all. Our luminaria ceremony demonstrated the community’s warmth and strength in honoring survivors and those who are no longer with us. This year, we were honored to welcome the newly-married Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who stopped by on their wedding day to walk the track in honor, and memory, of their grandparents.
It was inspirational to see people from all parts of our community come out to support us and help save lives from cancer. Special thanks to all of our community partners and supporters this year, especially those involved in the events leading up to Relay For Life, and the event itself:
Warren County Courthouse and Commissioners, City of Warren, area churches and businesses, Music in the Park, Cub Scout Pack 13, the Fairytale Troupe, area firefighters, Hospice, WGH Cancer Care Center, and the Warren County School District.
I would also like to thank the Relay For Life event volunteer leadership team, team captains, and participants who worked so hard to make this year’s event a success. And of course, thank you to our corporate sponsors for their support, which made all of this possible. Together, we celebrated those surviving cancer, remembered loved ones lost, and took tangible action to make a difference.
