Commissioners
Dear Editor,
As a former Courthouse employee for 25 years, I feel compelled to comment on the current controversy within the Commissioners’ Office. For 17 of the years I worked, my desk faced the entrance to that Office through several different Boards. All three Commissioners attend meetings except for extenuating reasons. All were present in the office for at least part of every work day.
Each elected official is there for his or her constituents and should be available for the public if needed. No county employee, other than those directly associated with the Commissioners’ office, need be concerned about losing their job. Only office heads can fire their own employees. Also, unless the rules have changed, a person needs three warnings before being fired, unless they have directly affected office procedure.
Perhaps Ms. Morrison needs different advisors.
Sincerely,
Norma Mills,
Warren,
Retired Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts,
Former Vice Chair of Republican Party,
Warren County
