You are not Forgotten
The 3rd Friday in September is a day set aside by congress to honor and remember those Americans who were and still are Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. Although it is not a federal public holiday it is a national observance. It is not only our duty but our responsibility as Americans to focus on our country’s continuing commitment to account as fully as possible for those that are still missing.
It was very disheartening to see only a hand full of people show up on the day of remembrance at Gen. Joseph Warren Park. Our State Representative was the only elected official that was in attendance.
We rally around these same brave men and women and their family’s when we send them into harm’s way to protect and preserve our Freedoms. Can’t we take a few minutes each year on the 3rd Friday of September, this National day of remembrance, to gather and show our support for those who have lost their Freedom in defense of ours?
