Timothy Persing

Timothy “Stick” Matthew Persing, 66, of Pittsfield, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness.

Tim was born on September 19, 1952, a son to the late Herbert and Arlene Persing. Tim worked as a pipe fitter and welder at the United Refining Company for over 20 years. Tim loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid sports fan, but his passion was baseball which he spent countless hours playing with his friends and brothers, where he grew up, in Grand Valley. His later baseball years were spent cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates from the comfort of his home. Tim was a person his friends and family could count on to lend a hand when someone was in need.

Tim is survived by his daughters, Katie Dininny (Aaron) of Norfolk, Virginia and Sara Ulrich (Amanda) of Erie, along with six grandchildren, Abigail, Kerrigan, Samara, Seneca, Kennan, and Elizah. The past decade his grandchildren became the light of his life; a smile of pride spreading across his face as he talked about them to his family, friends and even strangers. He is also survived by his siblings, David Persing (Mickey) of Pittsfield, Larry Persing (Madelyn) of Punxatawney and Bonita Danielson (Conrad) of Lander.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 6, at 11 am at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, PA 16371.

The Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at nelsonfuneralhome.net.
