Carl Larson

Carl H. Larson, 90, of Russell, passed away at his home on March 19, 2019.

Carl was born on September 11, 1928 to Herbert and Bertha Moore Larson. He lived in the Warren County area his entire life where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, combing the hills for ginseng and being with his family and friends. Anyone who knew him knew how much he enjoyed fishing in summer and winter. He spent many afternoons sitting in his ice tent and fishing on Chautauqua Lake. His family enjoyed his efforts as they feasted on perch, walleye and even salmon that he had caught. He loved to garden and to raise chickens until his health made it difficult for him to do either.

Carl worked as a union welder for Dahlstrom Industries in Jamestown, NY for the majority of his adult life. He retired from there in 1993. He married the love of his life in 1946, Alberta Lorraine Hice. They were married for 65 years before her passing in 2011.

He will be greatly missed by his sister, Donna Carlson, his son Dan Larson (Pat) of Russell, PA, his daughters, Valerie Tuller (Jeff) of Oklahoma City and Deborah Stewart also of Russell. Also surviving him are nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one greatgreat granddaughter as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends who will miss his funny stories and his knowledge of local history.

Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alberta, his father, Herbert, his mother, Bertha, and his brother Ed Larson.

Friends will be received from 11 AM – 1 PM, on Monday, March 25 at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365, with a funeral service to follow at 1 PM, Rev. Marcus Briggs, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell, PA.
