Samuel Wilson Borland, Sr., 63, of Yankee Bush Road, Warren, PA passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at home unexpectedly. Born in Warren, on January 20, 1956, he was the son of the late Isaac and Mary Ellen (Riche) Borland. He was currently working pumping wells for John Allen and was retired from his employment with Ellwood National Forge in Irvine after 42 years of service. He liked making maple syrup, beekeeping, gardening, and cutting lumber at the sawmill. He was a very self-sufficient man, able to accomplish work around the house and his property himself. Samuel was very proud of his home. He loved to spend time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving is his wife, Chris Lundberg McQueen; 1 daughter, Jody (Eric Nelson) Borland Font of Sugar Grove; 2 sons, Samuel (Teena) Borland of Warren and Jacob (Kate) Borland of Sugar Grove; one stepson, Mark McQueen of North Carolina; 2 sisters, Vivian (Paul) Sanford of Youngsville and Lottie (Joe) Wood of Illinois; 3 brothers, Isaac (Sue) Borland of Warren, John (Becky) Borland of North Carolina, and Richard (Sandy) Borland of Tidioute; 8 grandchildren, Kate, Cheyanna, Sammy, Logan, Kaden, Brock, Lainey and Ava; 2 stepgrandchildren, Nathan and Alex; his black lab, Jackson and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Underneath his tough skin, was an old softie, who loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Brian McQueen and his wife, Sara; and infant sister, Valerie Borland.
