Wanda Little

Wanda Carlene Little, 88, died on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 while recovering from a series of illnesses, under very caring hospice support. A viewing will occur at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, Indiana on Sunday, July 8 from 5 to 7 p.m., and a brief viewing at Frist Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Monday morning, followed by a funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church in Clinton (11 a.m.) and burial at Helts Prairie cemetery near Summit Grove, In.

Born in Chicago, Wanda moved to In., where she lived in Clinton, Summit Grove and the Indianapolis area before starting her work life that included various jobs in New York City, and multiple food and beverage service positions in several cities across the country, ending up in Warren, Pa., at the Warren, Pa., country club and where she owned and operated a fine food restaurant. Wanda ended her professional career as the Director of the Warren County RSVP organization.

Wanda loved good food and entertaining, but her true passion was for genealogy. She traveled extensively, researching the history of the Little, Smock and Ritter family trees. While there was no ancestry.com, this was done in the early days of computers. Wanda, a bona fide technophobe mastered the use of Family TreeMaker in service of her passion.

Her other crowning achievement was the completion of her GED in her 50’s and getting a BA degree in geriatric studies at the University of Pittsburgh – Bradford in her 60’s.

Wanda is survived by her sister Jeraldine Brown of Mecca, In., son Jim Bianchetta (Marge) of Chadds Ford, Pa., and daughter Kay Hutchens/Jacobs of Noblesville, In.; grandsons Tony Bianchetta (Tina) of Bear, De., Michael Bianchetta (Bill) of Boston, Ma., and granddaughters Triste Rosebrough (Jack) of Fishers, In., and Samantha Jacobs of Indianapolis.

Wanda was preceded in death by parents Sarah Smock-Little and Preston Little and two sisters: Rosemary (Rusty) Ginsberg of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and Karen Scharrer of Freeport, Tx.

Memorial gifts (instead of flowers) can be made to Catholic Charities.
