Rickey Casey

Surrounded by his family, Rickey F. Casey, 57, of Midlothian, VA, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Born August 30th, 1960 in Skowhegan, ME, he was the son of Alexis and Jeanine Casey. He was raised in Clinton, ME, with the Sebasticook River in their backyard. With the help of his 8 brothers and 1 sister, he found plenty of trouble, fun and adventure.

Rick married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Deborah Lefebvre, in Fairfield, ME, on August 9th, 1979, and his love for her never diminished over the next 38 years. Rick and Debi were an example of “true love” that virtually everyone who met them recognized immediately. They were often seen kissing and holding hands in public, much to the embarrassment of their two sons.

From farming, to carpentry, managing a grocery store to owning his own convenience store, manufacturing wire and finally to owning his own HVAC company, Rick was blessed with a life full of gifts and talents.

Rick lived life to the fullest and never turned down an opportunity for adventure. He loved to travel with Debi and see the world. Together they took two trips around the United States, cruise ships to the islands, and even flew to Europe to visit Spain, Italy, and Germany. Their favorite adventures included hiking, scuba diving, canoeing, camping, and even tried out skydiving!

Rick lived a life serving God and others. He was a devoted member of the St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Youngsville, PA, where he served as worship leader for over 20 years. He served on the Pastoral Council, was Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and regularly volunteered for community outreach. He volunteered countless hours building a Habitat House, and donated his HVAC company resources to help build two others.

Rick was known for his love for writing music and playing guitar. He wrote many songs that he played regularly at St. Luke’s, around campfires, and family reunions.

Ricks’ greatest love was for his family. He loved to tell stories about growing up with his siblings. Like his dad, he was a great story teller and loved making people laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Rick was predeceased by his parents Alexis and Jeanine Casey of Skowhegan, ME.

Rick is survived by his loving bride of 38 years, Debi Casey; Two sons, Michael and his wife Alaina, and David and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, Olivia, Lizzi, and David; his siblings, Mark and wife Ophie, James and wife Madeline, Duane and wife Judy, Alexis and wife Lisa, Shawn, Tim, Tom, Patrick and wife Jean, and Mary; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St Luke’s Catholic Church, 420 N Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371

Due to his own battle, Rick had a strong desire to contribute to the research, treatment, and cure of brain cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ricks’ memory to the Brain Support Network at https://www.brainsupportnetwork.org/donate.
