Nancy Steimer

Nancy Glenn Steimer, 88, of State College, PA, passed away on October 23, 2017. She was a resident of the Village at Penn State.

She was born on April 28, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to Todd K. and Almena B. Glenn.

Nancy graduated from Leechburg Area High School, where she was head majorette. She spent two years at Penn State before she met her future husband, John. They were married in 1950. They spent the next years in Franklin, PA and Leechburg, PA. After John retired they moved to Tidioute, PA, enjoying 100 acres of forest, wildlife, and the Allegheny River. Life then moved them full circle back to State College to the Village at Penn State. Nancy and her husband are proud to be part of the Penn State University family. They made many major gifts within the College of Agriculture including scholarships, a professorship, the new Forestry Building and the Arboretum. Nancy loved her Nittany Lions, and attended many athletic events, both here and away. They also made major gifts to the Sarni Tennis Center, the Bryce Jordan Center and endowed a men’s basketball scholarship.

Nancy was also a member of the Laurel Circle of the Mount Nittany Society. Her hobbies included reading, needlepoint, and shopping.

Besides her husband, Nancy is survived by her two children, Michael (Ginger) and Lisa (Debbie), two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Village at Penn State.
