Phyllis Chitester

Phyllis R. Chitester, 88, of Youngsville, PA, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 15th, 2017 at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Jamestown, NY on June 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Archie Doud and Doris (Clark) Doud Richards. She married John W. Chitester on April 25, 1947 who preceded her in death May 31, 2016. Phyllis was employed as a Cafeteria Head Cook at Irvine and Youngsville Elementary schools for over 20 years. She was a member of the Youngsville First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle. She enjoyed cornhole, bingo, horseshoes and the many programs at the Rouse Suites. She will be remembered by her family for her delicious desserts.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Rosadell Jean (Herb) Tomer of New Jersey and Lois Ann See of Pittsfield, PA; 1 son, John Robert (Sandy) Chitester of Warren; 3 grandchildren, Clay (Tammey) Tomer, John Jay (Misty) Tomer and Renee See Taylor; 6 greatgrandchildren, Matthew Tomer, Kristen Tomer, Taylor Tomer, Zachary Tomer, DeVaughn Taylor, and Damian Taylor; 2 step grandchildren, Brian Bimber and Kim (Kevin) Smith; 2 step great grandchildren, Hunter Smith and Elisabeth Smith; 1 great great grandson, Ethan Cutler and 1 step great great grandson, Julian Trevino. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jay Richards.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 68 pm at McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 West Main St., Youngsville, PA where a funeral and committal service will be held on Wednesday, June 21st at 11 am. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, NY. The family suggests those wishing to place memorials may do so to Hospice of Warren County.
