Florence Moyer

Florence Moyer of Columbus, Pa., lost her battle with cancer on Feb. 24 at Corry Memorial Hospital. Florence was born October. 29, 1941 in Youngsville, Pa at the “Bee Hive”. She was the daughter of the late George and Helen Kerchak. She was a 1959 graduate of Youngville High School. She married Bill L. Moyer on April 11,1964. She was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church of Corry PA. She worked at New Process Co., Elgin Electronics, and retired from Blair Corp. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Aux. post 365 for 35 years, and also an Aux member of Am Vets post 50 of Sugar Grove. She was a long time member and served as president of the Columbus Vol. Fire Dept Ladies Aux. post. Florence was also a member of the VFW post 264 of Corry PA. She is survived by two sons, William and George Moyer of Columbus PA., stepdaughter Robin Brumagin of Corry Pa., and George’s companion Melissa Worstell, sister Angela Kerchak of Corry Pa., and a brother, Mike Kerchak, of Palm Beach Fl. She is also survived by three grand children Dylan, Kelsey and Amelya Moyer, and two greatgrand children, Luke and Julia Green. She enjoyed reading while sitting in her flower garden by her frog pond. She and her husband Bill sat there and watched the frogs and birds. She enjoyed taking care of her pets and watching the Cleveland Indians baseball team. There will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Her body was donated to Med Cure.
