Steven Rulander

Steven Douglas Rulander, 57, of Rhine Run Road, Russell, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh.

Steven was born in Warren, PA on April 16, 1959, the son of the late Herbert Rulander and Lois (Nelson) Orth. He enjoyed family time, hunting, fishing, camping, working on cars, photography and coaching his kids in wrestling and football. He loved his employment at Cummins Engine in Lakewood where he worked for over 35 years, and where he went by “Rookie”. He was a dedicated electrician, working many hours or whatever was required until the job was done.

He was the husband of Lynne (Eddy) Rulander whom he married Sept. 1, 1984 in Busti, NY and who survives him. Also surviving is his stepmother, Jerri Rulander of Warren; a daughter, Heather (James) California of Warren; 2 sons, Jacob (Ashley) Rulander of Warren and Michael Rulander of Russell; a stepson, Casey Clark of Busti, NY; a brother, Bobby Rulander of Russell; 4 stepbrothers, Chris (Leah) Egner, David Orth, and Jeff (Susan) Orth, and Robert (Ann) Orth, Jr.; a stepsister, Kim Orth; 2 grandchildren, Serenity Clark and Glade Rulander; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Orth, Sr. and his fatherinlaw and mother in law, Dale and Teresa Eddy.

Friends will be received Thursday from 24 & 68 pm. at McKinney Funeral Homes in Youngsville where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday with Rev. Timothy Olsen officiating. Graveside Services will follow in Davy Hill Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside service, a luncheon and celebration of Steven’s life will be held at the Lander Fire Department and everyone is invited to attend.
