Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth E. Johnson, Sr., 95, formerly of Central Towers, Kane, and earlier of Lantz Corners, died late Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2017 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where he resided the past few months.

  Born January 18, 1921 in Wetmore, he was the son of Benjamin A. and Emma T. Gunnarson Johnson.  On June 19, 1944 in Kane, he married Lorraine E. Manross, who died November 3, 1994.

  Ken was a supervisor of the cost estimating department at Dresser Mfg. in Bradford for thirty years, retiring in 1982.

  He was a member of Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church in Kane and the Kane Senior Center.

  Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Alyce Grady) Johnson, Jr. of Bradford and Gregory (Donna) Johnson of Kane; granddaughters Carrie (Duane) Lewis of Brockway and Billie (Joe) Jefferds of Kane; plus great grandchildren Tyler and Amanda Lewis and Harley, KiaJo and Colton Jefferds.

  Preceding him in death, besides his wife and parents, are sisters Velda Johnson, Geneva Pastrick and Gwendalyn Bifano; and brothers Kermit and Clifton Johnson.

  A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery at the family’s convenience.

  Memorial contributions may be made to Tabor Ev. Lutheran Church, 200 Dawson St.; or to the Kane Senior Center, 100 Fraley St., both in Kane, PA  16735.
