James Mechling

James R. Mechling, 78, of Sugar Grove, PA., died peacefully Sunday morning, January 15, 2017 with his family surrounding his bedside, at the Lutheran Social Services Nursing Facility, Jamestown, N.Y.  He was born July 27, 1938 in Kittanning, PA., he was the son of the late Lawson and Elsie Kunselman Mechling.  Jim was a Warren County area resident since 1966 and was employed as a XRay Technician at Struthers Wells Corporation for 27 years and had also been employed with Lorangers.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a man with a great sense of humor, who enjoyed telling a joke.  He had served with the U.S. Army as a specialist 4th grade.

He is survived by his companion, Linda M. Hoag of Sugar Grove, PA., his children – Desiree Mechling and her husband, Jon Vincent of Russell, PA., James Lawson Mechling and wife, Lisa of Tidioute, PA., Dan Mechling and wife, Cheryl of Warren, PA., Jon G. Mechling of Frewsburg, N.Y., 4 Siblings – Gail Freeman, Carol Stover and husband, Bill all of Ford City, PA., Barb Fredericks of Russell, PA., Ken Mechling and wife, Pat of Irvine, PA., 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, his beloved dogs, Molly and Dolly.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Jack and Daniel Gary Mechling, 2 Sisters – Delores Salsgiver and Betty Sipple.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Tuesday, January 18, 2017          from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., the Rev.
