WCCC students rewarded for hard work on Incentive Day

Students were eligible for the grand prizes for achieving perfect attendance all year or by making merit honor roll for the first three grading periods.

On Friday, Warren County Career Center celebrated students who showed extraordinary dedication.

“We gave out four large incentives for students who had perfect attendance all year or merit honor roll three times,” Principal Jim Evers said.

Those students were eligible for grand prize $50 gift cards.

Names were drawn and those prizes were awarded to Madison Howard and Audrey Ferrie for the morning programs and Mya Lovejoy and Ryan Madigan for the afternoon.

Every student who made perfect attendance at least once or was on the honor roll for the first three marking periods was entered into subsequent drawings for items from tools to backpacks donated by the companies and entities that comprise the career center’s advisory council.

Students who achieved perfect attendance more than once had more than one ticket entered and could win multiple prizes.

“We definitely were rewarding the kids for taking attendance seriously,” Evers said. “The goal is to improve our attendance. That’s been a big emphasis all year.”

Following the awards ceremonies, staff and students went outside for hot dogs and drinks, cornhole, frisbee, and just enjoying a day outside.
