One week after being jailed on drug charges a Warren County School District teacher was released Tuesday when he posted bail.

Matthew R. Kiser, 43, a teacher at Beaty-Warren Middle School, was charged with possession with intent to deliver, two counts of corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, possessing a weapon on school property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

City of Warren Police and Warren County School District officials received an anonymous tip that Kiser was using drugs and paraphernalia during school, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Kiser’s backpack that he had at the middle school contained methamphetamine, marijuana and more than 100 pills, according to police. Multiple drug paraphernalia items were found during a search of his property.

Police also found a meth pipe, a box-cutter knife, and Nicorette in Kiser’s classroom, according to the affidavit.

Kiser was removed from the building during school on April 16 and his vehicle was reportedly towed.

He was arraigned that night before Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik and committed to Warren County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond. Zydonik also imposed the condition that Kiser have no unsupervised contact with minor children.

He was released Tuesday when bail was posted by Surety Bonds of Tionesta, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 8 in district court.
