Titusville murder investigation is underway
The body of a Titusville man was found in the back of a truck belonging to his alleged assailant on Thursday, according to a report from state police at the Corry barracks.
Earl George Scroger Jr., 29, of Titusville was reportedly shot at a camp on Howe Lane near Windfall Road in Oil Creek Township, police report.
On Thursday, three known individuals went to the Titusville Police Department to report that Scroger had been shot by Bradley Matthew Seay, 20, of Lakeland, Fla. The camp where the incident allegedly occurred is owned by Seay’s grandparents, according to the police report.
Police made contact with Seay, who agreed to go to the Titusville Police Department. Scroger’s body was discovered in the bed of the pickup truck Seay was operating, according to the police report.
Seay was arraigned Friday morning before Crawford County Magisterial District Judge Rita Marwood on a first-degree felony count of criminal homicide. He was committed to the Crawford County jail without bail.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police report.
State police were assisted by Crawford County District Attorney Francis Schultz, Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell and Titusville Police Department.
