National Merit Scholarship finalist

Warren Area High School Senior Stephen Ashbaugh has qualified as a National Merit Scholarship finalist. From left are Guidance Counselor Betsy Sobkowski, Ashbaugh, and Principal Jeff Flickner. “The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies,” according to the NMS website. About 15,000 finalists nationwide were named from over 1.6 million high school students who took the qualifying tests. The finalists will compete for about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships.
