Warren man jailed for alleged death threats
A Warren man has been jailed for threatening to kill employees of a Warren establishment.
William C. Barhight, 64, of Warren, was charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats and summary harassment and taken to Warren County jail on Wednesday after failing to post $10,000 bail.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Barhight had stayed at a local hotel on the night of Monday, Oct. 1. The following day, he allegedly asked hotel staff for a room for the next night and was told there were no vacancies.
“This is when the defendant became aggressive,” City of Warren Police wrote in the affidavit. “The victim stated he began to make threats towards hotel staff… he would ‘kill them all’ and ‘shoot them all in the head.'”
“The defendant also stated that he was in the army and could ‘snipe’ them and the hotel staff would not know ‘when he would be back,'” police said.
Barhight was arraigned Friday before District Justice Ray Zydonik.
