Grand Valley woman charged with smuggling meth into jail
A Grand Valley woman is behind bars after attempting to smuggle methamphetamine into the Warren County Jail by hiding it in a body orifice.
Seneca Marie Booth, 30, was arrested by Conewango Township Police on August 27 after fleeing from a North State Street residence in North Warren.
She was subsequently charged with possessing controlled substances – contraband/inmate, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police were contacted on Monday by an agent with the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole requesting assistance at the State Street residence relative to a state parolee, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The agent allegedly told police that the parolee took an extended amount of time to answer the door and “reported that a female departed the residence and refused his requests to stop.”
The parolee said he didn’t know the female’s name, police allege, while the agent said that the female was possible wanted by law enforcement.
Police said that the female was located on the grounds of the Warren State Hospital “and identified as Seneca M. Booth, who was taken into custody. Booth was in possession of a hypodermic needle (and) $273.19 in cash.”
The affidavit states that a warrant was obtained for the residence at 217 N. State St. and “a large amount of drug paraphernalia was located including hypodermic needles, a burnt spoon and two glass pipes used for ingesting marijuana.
“Located in the belongings of Booth was a small metal case that contained a small scale, hypodermic needles, clear plastic baggies and a small, clear container containing suspected crystal methamphetamine.”
Police subsequently learned, according to the affidavit, that Booth “may have more methamphetamine on her person,” the affidavit states. “A search was conducted by jail staff and found that Booth had a large quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine inside her vagina in a clear plastic sandwich bag.”
According to online court records, charges were formally filed against Booth on Thursday.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 4 at 10 a.m.
