Football postponed by storms
Severe weather that moved across Northwestern Pennsylvania on Friday evening put on hold a number of high school football games, including the Warren Dragons’ scheduled Region 7 contest at Meadville.
The Dragons (2-2) will now play the Bulldogs (0-4) on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Meadville’s Bender Field.
Other games moved to Saturday in District 10 were Erie vs. McDowell at Veterans Stadium (7 p.m. Saturday), General McLane at Conneaut (1 p.m. Saturday) and Titusville-Corry (1 p.m. Saturday).
In District 9, Punxsutawney was supposed to host Kane on for its homecoming game, but it also got pushed back to Saturday at 7 p.m. All homecoming festivities will still take place.
A number of scheduled kickoff times in both District 9 and 10 were either moved up or back based on the weather forecast, but did go off as scheduled, including Eisenhower’s win at Northwestern and Sheffield’s loss at Cameron County.
