Photos submitted to Times Observer Park representative Heather Thomas shows Scouts a prickly plant that has grown in the lake since it has been dry. The Cub Scouts “year” is just underway and any interested boys or girls or in grades K-5 can join by calling the Chief Cornplanter Council office at 723-6700.
Photos submitted to Times Observer This past Saturday was National Public Lands Day. Chapman State Park invited the community to come and help clean up the park. Some Cub Scouts from Pack 6, sponsored by St Joseph Catholic Church, spent some time picking up trash in the now dry lake. Above, Scouts from Pack 6 include, from left, in front, Lennox Olsen (with sister Athena), Ashlynn Zimmerman, Kelsey Johnson, and, in back, Joseph Blasco, Joe Sigmund, Victor Rosa, Liam Johnson, and Ethan Zimmerman.
