Forest County man jailed following shooting, charged with aggravated assault

A Munhall man is in the Warren County Jail following a shooting in Kingsley Township in Forest County early Sunday morning.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Jon Joseph Taylor, 52, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and reckless endangerment following the incident that occurred at 201 Graham Farm Road at around 5 a.m. Sunday.

Police say Taylor and a known 31-year old male were involved in a physical altercation when Taylor retrieved a revolver from his vehicle. Police say the victim allegedly attempted to assault Taylor. Taylor then shot the victim in the neck, causing severe injury.

Marienville-based state police said Sunday night that the unnamed victim, who was unarmed, was transported to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of his injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Police say Taylor was taken into custody and arraigned in front of Judge Todd Woodin on Sunday. He was then placed in the Warren County Jail after failing to post $75,000 bail.

Taylor awaits a preliminary hearing that will take place on Tuesday in Forest County. He was uninjured in the altercation.
