Sheffield man charged for brandishing gun during domestic incident
A Sheffield man has been charged with felony assault.
State police were dispatched to a residence for an alleged domestic incident in which they encountered Shawn C. Clark, 35, who was in the kitchen holding a pistol.
When troopers identified themselves, “Clark attempted to hide the pistol before being taken into custody,” said police.
Police took possession of the pistol to find that it was “fully loaded with five bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber,” according to the police affidavit.
A witness allegedly told police that “Clark had allegedly pointed the said weapon at the victim during a domestic… While the weapon was pointed at the victim, Clark had his finger on the trigger and the safety off, causing the witness to feel in fear for the life of the victim.”
Clark was arraigned before District Justice Dan Miller on Sunday and committed to the Warren County Jail on $25,000 bail. He is charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats — both felonies — as well as misdemeanor charges of corruption of minors, simple assault, and reckless endangerment, as well as a summary charge of harassment.
Clark awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11.
