New threats received

Two WAEC students — ages 7 and 10 — under state police investigation

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a pair of threats made by students at Warren Area Elementary Center on Tuesday.

Police say they responded to the Warren Area Elementary Center at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday morning to investigate a written threat that was made by a 10-year-old juvenile male. The threat stated that the student was going to “kill all the teachers” along with disturbing hand-drawn sketches. As troopers arrived on scene, the threat was assessed and investigated.

The accused student was removed from the school, and a Juvenile Petition for charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct was prepared. The petition will be referred to the Warren County Juvenile probation office, which will schedule an Adjudication hearing at a later date.

While police were investigating the previous incident, PSP were alerted at 10:19 a.m. of another separate threat made by a 7-year old juvenile. An investigation into that threat is ongoing.

A press release by state police said, “Police will assess the validity of each alleged threat and will investigate thoroughly thoroughly on a case by case basis and will see the actor is held accountable for their actions.”
