Marc Mero returning for four presentations this week

Marc Mero is coming back to Warren County.

Mero, a former boxer, football player, and professional wrestler turned motivational speaker visited Warren this past December to talk to students at Beaty Warren Middle School and Eisenhower Middle/High School about setting goals, as well as making the best choices to achieve them.

Mero will be returning to the area this week, presenting at Sheffield Area Middle/High School and Youngsville High School on Wednesday and Warren Area High School on Thursday. He will also be presenting at a Community Night event on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Struthers Library Theater. That event is free and open to the public.

“The Warren County School District is excited to have partnered with our community partners, the Community Foundation and DeFrees Foundation, in order to bring Marc Mero back to Warren County for various presentations,” said Warren County School District Supervisor of Elementary Education Eric Mineweaser. “With the amazing feedback provided to us from students, staff, and community members, we felt compelled to take advantage of the opportunity when Alicia Gatto, BWMS parent, approached us in regards to bringing him back to present to the other students in the district.”

Mineweaser said Mero’s previous presentations were a big hit.

“We’ve worked closely with Alicia and our community partners to secure Marc and I’m confident his message will reach our students in a positive way,” he said. “I guarantee his words touched upon many students simply from the feedback we’ve already received from his previous visit. Personally, I know my own daughter, Halee an 8th grade student at BWMS, stated his message was very touching — as evidence that she even left me an “I love you Dad” note on my truck the very next morning from his presentation.”

Mero’s presentations use his life experiences to speak to students about bullying, goal-setting, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. Mero travels nationwide to spread his positive message.

“I am so excited that Marc Mero will be returning to Warren County for a series of presentations in our schools and a special community night at the Struthers Library Theatre,” Gatto said. “The impact he had on Beaty and Eisenhower students was tremendous and we look forward to Marc inspiring the students in Sheffield, Youngsville and Warren High. I am very grateful for the support of Warren County School District and the grants from the Community Foundation and the DeFrees Foundation to make all of these presentations possible.”

“We are hopeful that the community takes advantage of this opportunity to listen to Marc Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at the library theater – free admission for a great presenter/great experience,” Mineweaser said. “I don’t think you can beat that!”
