NY pair arrested for stealing tires

Police have arrested two New York men in connection with the reported December theft of thousands of dollars of tires.

Conewango Township Police charged Merle C. Smith and Damien L. Parisi, both of Jamestown, N.Y., on Wednesday each with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief.

According to police, 64 new tires valued at $7,319.26 were stolen from a storage shed at Ed Shults of Warren car dealership in North Warren on Dec. 7. An estimated $250 in damage was done during the burglary.

Following leads, police identified Smith and Parisi and located them in Jamestown.

Police spoke with the two men on Wednesday and filed the charges.
