Paint the Plow winner to be decided by vote
The painting is done, now it’s time for the voting.
PennDOT’s Paint the Plow program is intended to promote winter driving safety and foster appreciation for high school art programs.
Art students at Youngsville, Warren, Sheffield, and Eisenhower high schools, as well as East Forest High School, all painted plows that will be used on PennDOT trucks this winter.
Photos of the plows can now be seen at the PennDOT Facebook page in the Paint the Plow – Warren & Forest County photo album.
“When the schools first expressed interest in decorating the plow blades, we did not realize what works of art the students would produce,” Warren and Forest County Maintenance Manager Adam Elms said. “We truly appreciate all their hard work.”
“We also hope the program gave the teens a greater understanding on the size of plow blades and trucks, and they will use that knowledge to make safer decisions whenever driving near our roadway equipment,” he said.
“Members of the public can vote for their favorite plow through the PennDOT Facebook page (@PennsylvaniaDepartmentofTransportation),” Elms said. “The plow photo that receives the most ‘Reactions’ between Nov. 2, 2017, and Nov. 13, 2017, will be deemed the ‘Fan Favorite.'”
