Bus trip

WASU will offer a three-day, two-night coach bus trip to New York City from July 7 to 9. Two people per room for $250 each. Four people per room for $175 each. The bus will leave Warren at 9 a.m. on July 7 and return by 9:30 p.m. on July 9. The trip inlcudes breakfast at the hotel both days and transportation to and from the hotel to NYC on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. Reservations are needed ASAP to reserve seats. Parties of two or four only. Must be 21 years of age or travel with an adult.

Class lunch

The Warren Area High School Class of 1964 will meet for lunch on March 22 at noon at the Conewango Club. All members of the class and their spouses or significant others are welcome.

Class breakfasts

The Youngsville High School class of 1954 will have breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Richard’s Restaurant.

The Warren High School Class of 1952 is going to breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Peppermill Restaurant on Tuesday, March 21. All classmates, spouses and companions are invited.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease meeting

The first meeting for the 2017 Warren Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at the Community Room of Northwest Savings Bank on Second Ave., Warren. Lunch will be provided. All those interested in the Walk are urged to attend, including sponsors, former committee members, team captains, and volunteers.

The Walk is set for Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Betts Park.

Youth Conservation Corps

The Allegheny National Forest is seeking applications from high school students who are interested in preserving natural resources to work on the forest this summer. Students will be part of the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Summer Program, which provides employment opportunities and environmental education to students aged 15-18. The ANF will hire a five-person crew to work on the Bradford Ranger District and another five-person crew to work on the Marienville Ranger District.

The YCC program runs eight weeks, beginning in mid-June and continuing through early August. Participants will work weekdays, for eight hours a day and earn $7.25 per hour. Students are responsible for their transportation to the districts.
