Democrat Petition Party Feb. 25 will feature statewide candidates

The Warren County Democratic Committee is hosting a Petition Signing Party at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Jefferson Defrees Family Center, 207 Second Ave., Warren. The featured speakers for the petition party will be Superior Court candidates, Judge Maria McLaughlin and Judge Debbie Kunselman; both vying for two of the four Superior Court seats on the ballot in November.

The Honorable McLaughlin is a judge in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, First Judicial District, and presides over both family law and criminal law matters.

Deborah Kunselman is a judge on the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected in 2005 and retained in 2015. She was the first female elected to the 36th district Court of Common Pleas.

City Council Candidates Paul Giannini, Scott Baxter and Laurie Hall will be in attendance as well as School Board Candidate Aaron Stearns. All will be speaking at the event and available for questions and comments.

The event will support regional and statewide Democratic candidates for public office, gather signatures to get them on the ballot, and allow voters to meet candidates before the primary. The slate of speakers will be expanding throughout the week to include other judicial and county candidates.

Refreshments and snacks will be available for those who attend and sign petitions and attendance is free and open to the public.

The press is encouraged to attend and the candidates will be available for interview before and after their speeches. For information (including an updated list of speakers), visit warrendems.com or by call (814) 706-8343.
