ANF closed due to threat
The Allegheny National Forest has sent its employees home following an “unsubstantiated phone threat.”
According to U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Special Agent Bill Mickle, the forest headquarters, Bradford Ranger District, and Marienville Ranger District, are all closed while Forest Service law enforcement investigates the threat.
No further details were immediately available.
Conewango Township Police Chief Jason Peters said that, contrary to rumors that emerged after the Forest Service threat was publicized, there are no active shooter situations currently unfolding in Warren County.
