Winterfest still on despite no snow; events Sat. and Sun.

No snow, no problem. Winterfest is on.

The event will go on as scheduled this weekend.

Unseasonably warm temperatures and a shortage of snow may result in some changes, but there are still numerous events.

There is one significant change that has nothing to do with the weather. All events are on the beach side of the park.

Those events will include many of the usual suspects.

The canine weight pull does not count on snow.

The sled dog races will run with wheeled carts.

Tales of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue will talk about their program and their animals.

Participants in the Polar Bear Plunge will have slightly warmer air temperatures, but they’ll still be jumping in water that is plenty cold.

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hold hikes rather than cross-country skiing at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, starting at Pavilion 2.

Two international chainsaw carvers will be working at Pavilion 3.

There will be a geocaching event in the park.

Outhouses will be racing.

The DAV bus will be on the scene and there will be numerous vendors.
