Coach, fan incident ends Warren game
The Warren vs. Strong Vincent (of Erie) girls basketball game ended abruptly with Warren leading 54-22 with 1:46 left in the fourth quarter on Monday after Strong Vincent coach Paul Przepierski went into the stands and accosted a spectator who was yelling both at Przepierski and his players.
The game at Warren Area High School had been stopped momentarily for an injured Warren player when the altercation began. Officials instructed the Warren coaches and players to leave the gym and go into the locker room, after which the game was officially called.
Several Strong Vincent players went into the stands to try and restrain Przepierski and the situation was diffused after several minutes without further incident.
The spectator was not immediately identified.
