Jamestown police release name of shooting victim

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Police in Jamestown, N.Y. have released the name of a Jamestown man killed in a shooting Thursday evening.

Jamestown City Police said Obryan Ramos, 28, was shot multiple times at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday while he was standing on a porch at 853 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown.

He was taken to WCA Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, the shooter, initially identified as a black or Hispanic man wearing dark clothes, is believed to have specifically targeted Ramos.

Police said Ramos may have had a dispute with someone earlier Thursday or in the days prior to the shooting and are looking for information about the shooting or the argument.
